Easy Spinach Blueberry Smoothie 


Ingredients –

1 C spinach

1/2 C Blueberries

1 tbs flaxseeds

1 1/2 C liquid of choice (I used Almond Milk)

1 scoop protein powder of your choice (optional)



I love having a smoothie for breakfast in the summer. I usually start my day later, so its a great way to quickly get the nutrients I need to start my day. This smoothie is SUPER easy to make, as it only has a few ingredients – and you don’t need to chop or prep anything before. Just plop it all in the blender and spin! Not only is this drink tasty, it is jam packed with antioxidants from the blueberries and flaxseeds. Adding flaxseeds to this adds fiber and gives it a heart healthy boost by adding Omega 3 essential fatty acids, aka the “good” fat! The spinach adds plenty of protein and iron ¬†as well as potassium, folate (the natural form of folic acid) and Vitamin C. You can give this already powerful breakfast a boost by adding your favorite protein powder, but its not necessary. With all the vitamins, fiber, antioxidants and Omega -3s in this smoothie, it is the perfect heart healthy choice for breakfast or even to power up after a workout.
